Violet Leaf Absolute Oil

Violet Leaf Absolute Oil

Restoring, revitalizing and stabilizing. Violet Leaf Absolute has a leafy-green, slightly floral aroma, with cucumber and tea-like overtones. When highly diluted, the aroma becomes a little more floral and reminiscent of violets, which is why it is so valuable in high class perfumery. However, please note that this oil is obtained from violet LEAVES and does not smell strongly of violet flowers!

In her groundbreaking book ‘Guide to Aromatherapy’ (1961), Marguerite Maury refers to the regenerative powers of Violet Leaf Absolute suggesting it re-establishes elasticity in tissues and muscles and helps release toxins. This makes it valuable for rejuvenating a dry, lifeless complexion, softening wrinkles, and reducing thread-veins. It is an excellent choice for soothing and cooling acne, dermatitis and eczema.

Violet Leaf Absolute is good for treating grief since it helps to anchor our emotions after the death of a loved one, or the loss of something very important to us in daily life, such as a job. It provides comfort and support whilst boosting morale, and encourages the tenacity that is needed whilst working through the grieving process. Its effects could also be described as stabilising, so it is indicated for personalities who suffer with all types of mood swings.

Please note: Violet Leaf Absolute has a rich consistency and at cold temperatures this oil sometimes sets completely. Simply placing the bottle in warm water for 10 to 15 minutes will get the oil flowing properly.

Violet Leaf Absolute is also available from Quinessence as a 5% Dilution.
